3 Month Session | Head Held Up
This first milestone occurs around three months, at which time the baby starts to hold its head up in the air while lying on its stomach. Also at about 3 months, your baby will start to exchange smiles with you. This is a reciprocal or social smile that is a genuine, joyful response to your smile, how wonderful! This session captures the new interactions that your baby has with the world around them.
6 Month Session | Sitting Up
The second milestone occurs around six months of age at which time the baby starts to sit up on its own. Appointments for this session should be made at 6 to 6 ½ months so the child can sit up on its own or with support. We never risk a child not being able to sit up on their own, so if your child is not ready to sit up on their own, we will take pictures with your hand supporting the child and remove your hand in the post-production process.
9 Month Session | Standing with Assistance
The third milestoneis normally around nine months at which time the baby will start to stand up while holding onto something with support. The baby’s personality is taking hold: silly or outgoing or quiet and thoughtful, their personality will be captures during this session. This appointment should be made at 9 to 10 months to insure that the child’s muscles are developed enough to stand with support.
1 Year Session | Standing & Independence
The fourth and final milestone is when the baby just starts to walk which usually occurs at twelve to 13 months. Still a baby, but emerging as a robust and inquisitive child who is ready to meet the world! Also at this special milestone, we encourage parents to bring in a 1-year birthday cake. The cake is used in the session and allows you to capture the joyful moments of your child’s first birthday.
